I discovered Justina Blakeney’s blog fairly recently checking out Refinery 29 list of home decor blogs to bookmark. It instantly caught my eye since is quite different from what you currently see on most design blogs. She defines her signature style as ‘Jungalow’, where colours, plants, layers of fabrics and rugs room freely. It has a bohemian feel with plenty of room for vintage finds, upcycling furniture an bold prints. She recently started devoting a tumblr to this aesthetic called Welcome to the Jungalow. What makes this lovely globetrotter’s aesthetic even more interesting is that even dough her style if quite different from mine (which is constantly evolving and being defined as I go, I only recently allowed leaving creatures, aka plants, in my own home…) I saw many pictures on her tumblr which I also bookmarked in the past months. If I were to live in sunny California I might infuse my personal style with some Jungalow fever. Here a some pictures of her own Jungalow.

She frequently visits the Rose Bowl, a flea market in Los Angeles held once a month, where she finds the most amazing and exotic treasures. For a flea market aficionado as myself I just want to book my ticket and leave Belgium with many empty suitcases. For helpfull tips on turning your own place into a jungalow click here.
