It was a lovely weekend. Bought peonies at the market, which carried an interestingly beautiful surprise, served my favorite summer drink in new Ultima Thule glasses (a match made in heaven…I’m preparing a post on this item for later this week) and made delicious Jeweled Brown Rice.

I found the recipe on a really nice blog I started following religiously called My New Roots by holistic nutritionist and vegetarian chef Sara Britton. It’s my go to place whenever in need of cooking inspiration. It’s ultra well written and informative (if you have ever experienced a graving for sugar read this post, it was a great eye opener for me). The dish contains two of my favorite ingredients, pomegranate seeds and pistachio nuts, so I knew I was in for a treat but it surpassed my expectations. Just like my guests, I was swept of my feet by the rich flavours. This dish is like sunshine in a bowl, a feast for the eyes and your taste buds. And if you ever feel stressed or worried i strongly recommend to take a seat in your kitchen and peel a pomegranate…very meditative.
