The first time i saw this type of nutcracker was actually here. It’s the perfect example of a small detail that makes a house a home and that guarantees a smile on the face of any guest visiting. Needless to say i was surprised and delighted to find a similar one on my side of the Atlantic. The unidentified object pictured above was also available in the same flea market. It’s actually a sort of pyramid shaped display case (strange, and let’s be honest slightly tacky) but a sucker for anything brass I figured I could make it work somehow. Unfortunately it was so overpriced I didn’t even wanted to start bargaining. You can understand my excitement when i scored the exact same copy six times cheaper in my favorite flea market (where i find most of my good deals) later that same day. Seriously, what were the odds?
