It was built in 1929 for the Barcelona International Exhibition and it was THE point of reference for all my architecture teachers. When I started studying architecture I did not know one architect by name. Not a single one. I was quick to learn (thanks to a dear old friend) who Ludwig Mies Van de Rohe was. I have visited the Seagram Building in New York and the Neue Nationalgalerie in Berlin but this struck a special cord.

Tanya, a life coach and also a lovely airbnb host, was so kind to have me over for an exquisite Mariage Frere tea and a chat about Barcelona. Then she took me through the bustling streets of el Barrio Gotico to visit the atelier/shop of a befriended Argentinian couple. Pictures are coming soon.

On my way to MACBA I discoverd Andrew’s store Openhouse. Andrew is a British designer located in Barcelona for almost a year now. For anything related to: art, cook, home, light, photo, plant and wear visit his shop.
